بالبلدي : “Elano” Supports Burn Survivors at Ahl Masr as Children Return to School Through ‘Back to Joy’ Celebration

  1. “Valley Water,” the producer of Elano Water, sponsored the “Back to Joy” celebration held at the Ahl Masr Inclusion Center for Burn Survivors, affiliated with the Ahl Masr Foundation for Development.

The initiative aims to support the inclusion of child burn survivors and provide them with psychological and social support through a day of recreational activities, while also contributing to economic empowerment programs for survivors and their families and providing children with school supplies and backpacks as they return to school.

Dr. Heba El Sewedy, Founder and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Ahl Masr Foundation and Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, said Elano’s support for the “Back to Joy” celebration highlights the importance of private-sector participation in supporting burn survivors and programs focused on their inclusion and rehabilitation. She stressed the importance of having sustainable partners that contribute to the mission of Ahl Masr Foundation and Hospital and its programs dedicated to burn survivors.

El Sewedy added that burns are not only a health challenge, but also have wide-ranging social and psychological consequences that affect various aspects of survivors’ lives and those of their families, making their support and inclusion in society a shared responsibility that requires sustainable partnerships.

She also emphasized the importance of raising awareness about burn prevention, particularly among children, warning of the dangers associated with exposure to boiling water and other hot liquids at home. She stressed the need to keep children away from kitchens, hot water sources, tea, and boiling liquids.

El Sewedy said that a rapid and appropriate response to burn injuries plays a key role in reducing complications. She noted that the affected area should immediately be placed under running water for 20 minutes, describing this as one of the most important first-aid measures that can help reduce the severity of the injury.

She added that burn victims lose significant amounts of body fluids, requiring prompt medical intervention and appropriate fluid replacement. She stressed that increasing public awareness of first aid and prevention is an important factor in saving lives and limiting the impact of burn injuries.

Dr. Ahmed Eliwa, Chief Executive Officer of “Valley Water,” said the company’s participation in the celebration stems from its belief in the importance of supporting the inclusion of child burn survivors and backing Ahl Masr Hospital’s vision of creating an environment that helps them regain their normal lives and integrate into society.

Eliwa added that the collaboration aims to support child burn survivors, while also contributing to economic empowerment programs for survivors and their families and providing psychological and social support to help them overcome the effects of their injuries and begin a new chapter in their lives.

He said the company’s participation is intended to create a sustainable impact, noting Elano’s commitment to supporting children and burn survivors and backing Ahl Masr Hospital’s efforts in treatment, rehabilitation, and social inclusion.

Maha Abu Saa, Head of Corporate Communications, Social Responsibility, and Sustainability at “Valley Water”, said Elano’s participation in the “Back to Joy” celebration reflects the company’s commitment to supporting child burn survivors throughout the different stages of treatment and inclusion. She noted that the initiative included providing children with school backpacks and supplies as the new academic year begins.

Abu Saa added that providing backpacks and school supplies is intended to help ease the financial burden on the children’s families and support their return to school in a normal way, contributing to a stronger sense of stability and belonging and helping them continue their educational and social lives with greater confidence.

She said Elano aims to build on this collaboration in the coming period through sustainable initiatives that support rehabilitation, inclusion, and economic empowerment programs for burn survivors and their families, stressing the importance of partnerships that deliver direct and sustainable social impact.
