CIB Kenya has officially announced the appointment of Tirus Mwithiga as its Chief Executive Officer, following the required regulatory approvals from both the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The announcement was made during a press briefing hosted by the bank, marking what CIB Kenya described as a significant milestone in its growth journey and reaffirming its commitment to transparency, stakeholder engagement, and purposeful leadership.
During the event, the bank highlighted its strong financial performance in FY2025 and the continued business momentum carried into 2026. It also outlined its strategic priorities for the years ahead, emphasizing disciplined execution, sustainable growth, and the delivery of long-term value to customers, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
With more than 35 years of banking experience, Mwithiga assumes leadership at a pivotal stage in the bank’s development. He is expected to drive the bank’s next phase of growth by strengthening its retail, corporate, and commercial banking businesses, accelerating technology-driven transformation, and fostering a high-performance, future-ready organization.
CIB Kenya noted that the event was more than a leadership announcement, serving as a platform to present the bank’s long-term vision focused on innovation, growth, and creating sustainable value for clients, stakeholders, and the communities it serves.
