ووفقًا لما أوردته قناة «إم بي سي»، أصدر حسام حسن تعليمات للاعبين بعدم الحديث عن منتخب الأرجنتين أو التفكير في احتمالية مواجهته في الدور ثمن النهائي، مطالبًا الجميع بالتركيز الكامل على لقاء أستراليا باعتباره الخطوة الأولى نحو تحقيق إنجاز تاريخي.

وأضاف التقرير أن المدير الفني شدد خلال اجتماعاته مع اللاعبين على ضرورة تجنب الانشغال بأي حسابات مستقبلية، مؤكدًا أن التأهل إلى الدور التالي لن يتحقق إلا بتجاوز عقبة المنتخب الأسترالي.
