The German club Bayern Munich officially announced today (Thursday) the extension of its English striker Harry Kane's contract until June 30, 2029. This historic announcement crowns an exceptional week for the 33-year-old forward, just days after he won the Ballon d'Or award for 2026, becoming the first English player to achieve this feat in a quarter of a century.
This renewal reflects the Bavarian club's desire to maintain its primary attacking cornerstone; sports reports indicate that the new contract is the largest financially in the history of the Bundesliga, making Kane the highest-paid player in Europe in terms of base salary.
Since joining Allianz Arena in the summer of 2023, the English captain has achieved miraculous numbers, scoring 156 goals in 161 official matches, leading the team to win the Bundesliga title twice in a row and the DFB-Pokal.
In his first statement after signing, Kane expressed his immense pride, saying: "Munich has become a second home for me and my family. I feel completely settled here, and I have a great passion for continuing to write history and winning more continental and domestic titles under the guidance of coach Vincent Kompany."
For its part, the Bayern Munich board confirmed that Kane's continuation represents the cornerstone of the club's sports project in the coming years, noting that his impact goes beyond scoring goals to leading and developing young talents within the locker room, ensuring the continued dominance of the Bavarian giant on the European stage.
