Al Rehab Developments is accelerating construction work at its “Marseille Mall” project in Sadat City, with significant progress achieved in the foundations, basement columns, and retaining walls. The company is preparing to move forward with the next construction phases in line with the project’s targeted timeline.
Eng. Ahmed Tablaya, Chairman of Al Rehab Developments, said the company is working intensively to complete the construction works at Marseille Mall. He noted that the casting of the foundations and basement columns, as well as the construction of the side walls, has been completed. Waterproofing and backfilling works have also been carried out, while preparations are underway to install the formwork for the first section of the basement ceiling.
He added that the company aims to complete the casting of the ceiling and begin work on the upper basement level over the coming month, alongside ceiling works in the second section. The company’s plan targets completion of the entire concrete structure within one year, while also progressing with masonry works and commencing internal and external finishing.
Tablaya explained that the project includes two basement levels, representing one of its key construction challenges. Implementing a two-level basement with this design is considered a first for Sadat City. As a result, specialized excavation support measures were required, including retaining piles reinforced with a ground-anchor system, which the company said is being implemented for the first time in the city.
He pointed out that the lower basement will be dedicated to parking facilities, while the upper basement will accommodate commercial and entertainment activities, in addition to a plaza, providing a variety of spaces to serve visitors and shoppers.
For his part, Eng. Emad Khalifa, Chairman of Al Khalifa Construction Company and General Consultant to Al Rehab Developments, said construction at Marseille Mall is progressing steadily through its various structural phases. He explained that the project’s specific requirements, particularly the construction of two basement levels and the securing of excavation sides, demand a high level of technical precision and continuous coordination throughout the implementation process.
Khalifa added that work is proceeding according to the established construction schedule, with a focus on completing the concrete structure and moving successively into masonry and finishing works, paving the way for the project’s final stages.
Marseille Mall is located in the Third District on Gamal Abdel Nasser Street in Sadat City. The commercial and entertainment development comprises two basement levels, a ground floor, and two upper floors, with designated areas for parking, a plaza, and commercial and entertainment activities.
The project reflects the company’s strategy of developing commercial and entertainment destinations that meet the needs of Sadat City residents and provide an integrated destination for shopping, leisure, and services. Construction work is continuing as the company prepares to advance through the upcoming phases in line with its announced targets.
