Willis Towers Watson Egypt (WTW), a global company operating in insurance brokerage, consulting, and risk management, has announced a strategic partnership with Kanoo Travel Limited – Egypt Branch, part of the YBA Kanoo Group, to provide insurance solutions for customers in the travel and tourism sector.
Under the partnership, Willis Towers Watson Egypt (WTW) has been appointed as the insurance broker for Kanoo Travel Limited – Egypt Branch, to source and arrange insurance solutions tailored to its customers’ needs, leveraging WTW’s expertise in brokerage, consulting, risk management, insurance, and employee benefits.
The partnership includes the introduction of a new insurance product designed and approved by a global insurance company operating in the Egyptian market. The product covers financial losses arising from non-refundable fees and charges in the event of travel booking cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions specified in the insurance policy.
The coverage applies to flight bookings, hotel reservations, or both, provided that the bookings are made through Kanoo Travel Limited – Egypt Branch.
The insurance solution aims to provide customers with financial protection in covered circumstances by reimbursing eligible non-refundable costs incurred following a booking cancellation. This is intended to help reduce the financial burden associated with unforeseen circumstances that may prevent customers from completing their travel plans.
Both companies emphasized that the coverage does not automatically apply to all booking cancellations. Instead, it is limited to cases that meet the terms, conditions, and exclusions set out in the insurance policy. The product has also received approval from the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA).
The partnership forms part of WTW’s Affinity solutions, which integrate insurance coverage and benefits into services offered by partner organizations to their customers, targeting several sectors, including travel and tourism.
The event was attended by senior executives from both companies. Representing Kanoo Travel Limited – Egypt Branch were Samia Hamza, Chief Executive Officer, and Inas Girgis, Head of Supplier Relations and Revenue Management.
