ليست المشكلة في أن يتقدّم أكثر من مرشح لرئاسة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، بل في أن تكون المنافسة حقيقية، وأن يكون القرار بيد الناخبين وحدهم، بعيداً عن أي مؤثرات أو توجّهات قد تحد من حرية الاختيار.

- جميل هذا العدد من الأسماء التي رشّحت نفسها لمنصب رئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، إلى جانب القوائم المكملة التي تشكّلت لاستيفاء العدد المطلوب من أصوات أعضاء الجمعية العمومية. ولو تأملنا السيرة الذاتية للمرشحين، لوجدنا أن غالبيتهم يمتلكون خبرات رياضية تراكمت عبر سنوات من العمل الميداني والأكاديمي، وهي ميزة لم تتوافر في انتخابات سابقة إلا في مناسبتين، ورغم ذلك لم تحقّق تلك التجارب النجاح المأمول بسبب تدخلات وظروف حالت دون بلوغ أهدافها.

- ولعل ما شجّع هؤلاء على خوض هذه التجربة ليس ـ كما يعتقد البعض ـ أن الباب أصبح مفتوحاً أمام الجميع فحسب، أو أنها فرصة للظهور الإعلامي وتحقيق الشهرة، وإنما انطلاقاً من قناعة بأن المرحلة قد تغيّرت، وأن هذا هو عصر أهل اللعبة؛ أصحاب الخبرة النظرية والميدانية، الذين خاضوا غمارها، وعرفوا دهاليزها، وأدركوا مداخلها ومخارجها، وذاقوا حلوها ومرها. لذلك يرون أن عجلة الزمن قد دارت لتمنحهم فرصة تقديم تجربة قد تكون أكثر نجاحاً ممن سبقهم، خصوصاً أن غالبية الاتحادات السابقة كانت متشابهة في النهج والأداء، ولم نشهد بينها اختلافاً جذرياً أو عملاً استثنائياً أحدث نقلة نوعية واضحة في كرة القدم السعودية، وظلت مرحلة الأمير فيصل بن فهد ـ رحمه الله ـ في نظر كثيرين من أبرز المراحل تأثيراً في تاريخ الرياضة السعودية.

- صحيح أننا في هذا العهد الزاهر نعيش نقلة نوعية غير مسبوقة في هوية الدوري السعودي وانتشاره عالمياً، كما شهدت الأندية ارتفاعاً كبيراً في قيمتها التسويقية، مدعوماً بزيادة عدد اللاعبين الأجانب واستقطاب نخبة من نجوم العالم الذين أسهموا في رفع مستوى المنافسة وتعزيز الإقبال الجماهيري والإعلامي على الدوري السعودي؛ إلا أن هذه التحوّلات لا يمكن نسبها إلى اتحاد معين أو مجلس إدارة بعينه، لأنها في الأصل مشروع وطني إستراتيجي جاء بتوجيه ودعم عرّاب الرؤية ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان -حفظه الله- وتجاوز في أهدافه وأبعاده حدود أي اتحاد لكرة القدم.

- ومن هنا، فإن نجاح الاتحاد القادم لن يقاس بما تحقّق من مكتسبات بدأتها الدولة، وإنما بقدرته على حماية هذه المكتسبات وتطويرها وتعظيم آثارها، من خلال العمل المؤسسي، وصناعة القرارات المفصلية، وترك بصمة واضحة تضيف إلى كرة القدم السعودية مزيداً من النجاح والإنجازات.

- بمنتهى الصدق والصراحة، المشكلة الحقيقية في هذه الانتخابات ليست في كثرة المرشحين أو كفاءتهم، وإنما في الناخبين وعددهم البالغ 49 عضواً يمثلون الجمعية العمومية. والسؤال الذي يفرض نفسه: «هل سنشهد هذه المرة قفزة نوعية في الوعي الانتخابي، من خلال انتخابات حقيقية تُمنح فيها الفرصة لجميع المرشحين لعرض برامجهم الانتخابية وآليات تنفيذها، ويُتاح لكل ناخب الاستماع والمناقشة ثم اتخاذ قراره وفق قناعة كاملة بمن يستحق المنصب هو وقائمته؟».

- أما إذا كانت المخاوف التي يتداولها الشارع الرياضي صحيحة، وأن الانتخابات ليست سوى إجراء «صوري» أو شكلي، يقتصر فيه دور أعضاء الجمعية العمومية على تنفيذ توجّهات مرسومة سلفاً، فإن حضورهم وتأثيرهم سيظل محدوداً طوال السنوات الأربع التالية، قبل أن يعودوا مجدّداً عند نهاية الدورة الانتخابية لتكرار المشهد ذاته، وكأن الجمعية العمومية مجرد متطلب «نظامي» لا أكثر، لا شريكاً حقيقياً في صناعة القرار.

- عندها فقط سنعرف حتماً.. هل انتخبنا رئيساً للاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم وفق إرادة انتخابية حقيقية، أم اكتفينا بإعلان نتيجة كانت معروفة مسبقاً؟ وبالتالي «يابو زيد ما كأنك غزيت».

The problem is not that more than one candidate is running for the presidency of the Saudi Football Federation, but rather that the competition should be genuine, and that the decision should be solely in the hands of the voters, free from any influences or directions that may limit the freedom of choice.

- It is wonderful to see this number of names that have nominated themselves for the position of president of the Saudi Football Federation, alongside the supplementary lists formed to meet the required number of votes from the members of the General Assembly. If we examine the biographies of the candidates, we find that the majority possess sports experiences accumulated over years of field and academic work, a feature that was not present in previous elections except on two occasions. Despite this, those experiences did not achieve the hoped-for success due to interventions and circumstances that prevented them from reaching their goals.

- Perhaps what encouraged these individuals to undertake this experience is not, as some believe, that the door has been opened to everyone, or that it is an opportunity for media exposure and fame, but rather a conviction that the stage has changed, and that this is the era of those who know the game; the ones with theoretical and practical experience, who have navigated its depths, understood its intricacies, and tasted its sweetness and bitterness. Therefore, they see that the wheel of time has turned to give them the opportunity to present an experience that may be more successful than those who preceded them, especially since the majority of previous federations were similar in approach and performance, and we did not witness any fundamental differences or exceptional work that brought about a clear qualitative shift in Saudi football. The era of Prince Faisal bin Fahd - may God have mercy on him - remains, in the eyes of many, one of the most influential periods in the history of Saudi sports.

- It is true that in this prosperous era, we are witnessing an unprecedented qualitative shift in the identity of the Saudi league and its global reach, as clubs have seen a significant increase in their market value, supported by an increase in the number of foreign players and the attraction of elite global stars who have contributed to raising the level of competition and enhancing public and media interest in the Saudi league; however, these transformations cannot be attributed to a specific federation or board of directors, as they are essentially a national strategic project that came under the guidance and support of the architect of the vision, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect him - and its goals and dimensions exceed the boundaries of any football federation.

- Hence, the success of the upcoming federation will not be measured by the gains achieved by the state, but rather by its ability to protect these gains, develop them, and maximize their impacts through institutional work, making pivotal decisions, and leaving a clear mark that adds more success and achievements to Saudi football.

- With complete honesty and transparency, the real problem in this election is not the number of candidates or their qualifications, but rather the voters, numbering 49 members representing the General Assembly. The question that arises is: “Will we witness this time a qualitative leap in electoral awareness, through genuine elections where all candidates are given the opportunity to present their electoral programs and implementation mechanisms, and where each voter can listen, discuss, and then make their decision based on a complete conviction of who deserves the position and their list?”

- However, if the concerns circulating in the sports community are correct, and the elections are merely a “formal” or superficial procedure, where the role of the members of the General Assembly is limited to executing pre-determined directives, then their presence and influence will remain limited throughout the following four years, before they return again at the end of the electoral cycle to repeat the same scene, as if the General Assembly is merely a “regulatory” requirement and nothing more, not a true partner in decision-making.

- Only then will we truly know... whether we elected a president for the Saudi Football Federation based on genuine electoral will, or if we merely settled for announcing a result that was known in advance? Thus, “Oh Abu Zaid, it’s as if you never invaded.”
