عقد وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، ونائب رئيس الوزراء، وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي للجمهورية الإيطالية أنتونيو تاياني، اجتماعاً ثنائياً استعرضا خلاله التطورات الإقليمية وأكدا متانة الشراكة الإستراتيجية الثنائية.

الاجتماع عقد على هامش اجتماع الرؤساء المشاركين لمجموعات العمل التابعة لمؤتمر نيويورك وأعضاء التحالف العالمي لتنفيذ حل الدولتين، المنعقد في روما. ورحب الوزيران بنتائج اجتماعات التحالف العالمي، مؤكدين دعمهما لتنفيذ قرار مجلس الأمن الدولي (2803) والخطة الشاملة لإنهاء الصراع في غزة، مسلطين الضوء على دور الحوار بين الأديان في تحقيق سلام عادل ودائم قائم على حل الدولتين.

أكد الوزيران مجدداً، ضرورة الحفاظ على وقف إطلاق النار في غزة، ونزع سلاح القطاع، وضمان وصول المساعدات الإنسانية إلى المدنيين دون عوائق، والشروع في أنشطة التعافي المبكر، فضلاً عن دعم جهود الإصلاح التي تبذلها السلطة الفلسطينية، وأدانا تصاعد عنف المستوطنين في الضفة الغربية، مؤكدين الحاجة المُلحة لحماية السكان الفلسطينيين، وجدد الوزيران معارضتهما لأي شكل من أشكال الضم - سواء كان جزئياً أو كلياً أو بحكم الأمر الواقع - للضفة الغربية، وللتهجير القسري للفلسطينيين.

وأكد الوزيران، أهمية احترام القانون الدولي، بما في ذلك القانون الدولي الإنساني، وشددا على ضرورة حماية حرية الملاحة والأمن البحري في مضيق هرمز، والبحر الأحمر، ومضيق باب المندب، وخليج عدن، والممرات البحرية الدولية، وفقاً لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لقانون البحار. وأقرا بمساهمة العملية البحرية الأوروبية «يونافور أسبيدس»، وإيطاليا على وجه الخصوص، في حماية الملاحة التجارية.

في ما يتعلق باليمن، شجع الوزيران جميع الأطراف على الانخراط بشكل بنّاء في عملية سياسية بهدف التوصل إلى حل شامل ودائم للنزاع. كما أدانا هجمات الحوثيين على المملكة العربية السعودية، بما في ذلك الهجمات التي استهدفت البنى التحتية المدنية والمنشآت الحيوية، فضلاً عن التهديدات التي تشكلها على الأمن البحري وحرية الملاحة في البحر الأحمر ومضيق باب المندب، وأكدا مجدداً أهمية المساعدات الإنسانية والتنموية لليمن، ودعمهما للشعب اليمني. وشدد الوزيران على الأهمية الإستراتيجية لمضيق هرمز، معارضين أي إجراءات أحادية الجانب من شأنها تقييد العبور البحري، وجددا التزامهما بتحالف روما المعني بتوفير الأسمدة والأمن الغذائي في مضيق هرمز لتعزيز سلاسل الإمداد والأمن الغذائي، لا سيما للدول الأكثر عرضة لمخاطر ذلك في أفريقيا والبحر الأبيض المتوسط. ورحب الوزيران بالتطور المستمر للعلاقات الثنائية، وأكدا عزمهما على تعزيز التعاون في جميع القطاعات الرئيسية، استناداً إلى الشراكة الإستراتيجية بين البلدين. كما ناقش الوزيران الأنشطة المشتركة القادمة المتعلقة بالدورة القادمة من معرض «سالوني ديل موبيلي ميلانو» في العاصمة الرياض، كمثال على التعاون الثنائي المثمر في قطاع التصميم، مع التركيز على التميز الصناعي، والمواهب الشابة، والابتكار والإبداع.

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Antonio Tajani held a bilateral meeting during which they reviewed regional developments and affirmed the strength of the bilateral strategic partnership.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the co-chairs' meeting of the working groups affiliated with the New York Conference and members of the Global Coalition for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in Rome. The two ministers welcomed the outcomes of the Global Coalition meetings, reaffirming their support for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution (2803) and the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, highlighting the role of interfaith dialogue in achieving a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

The ministers reiterated the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza, disarming the sector, ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians, initiating early recovery activities, as well as supporting the reform efforts undertaken by the Palestinian Authority. They condemned the escalation of violence by settlers in the West Bank, emphasizing the urgent need to protect the Palestinian population, and renewed their opposition to any form of annexation—whether partial, total, or de facto—of the West Bank, and to the forced displacement of Palestinians.

The ministers affirmed the importance of respecting international law, including international humanitarian law, and stressed the necessity of protecting freedom of navigation and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, the Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Gulf of Aden, and international maritime passages, in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. They acknowledged the contribution of the European maritime operation "EUNAVFOR MED," particularly by Italy, in protecting commercial navigation.

Regarding Yemen, the ministers encouraged all parties to engage constructively in a political process aimed at reaching a comprehensive and lasting solution to the conflict. They also condemned the Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including attacks targeting civilian infrastructure and vital facilities, as well as the threats posed to maritime security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. They reaffirmed the importance of humanitarian and developmental assistance to Yemen and their support for the Yemeni people. The ministers emphasized the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, opposing any unilateral actions that would restrict maritime passage, and renewed their commitment to the Rome Alliance aimed at providing fertilizers and food security in the Strait of Hormuz to enhance supply chains and food security, especially for the most vulnerable countries in Africa and the Mediterranean. The ministers welcomed the ongoing development of bilateral relations and affirmed their intention to enhance cooperation in all key sectors, based on the strategic partnership between the two countries. They also discussed upcoming joint activities related to the next edition of the "Salone del Mobile Milano" exhibition in the capital Riyadh, as an example of fruitful bilateral cooperation in the design sector, focusing on industrial excellence, young talents, innovation, and creativity.
