أنهت الفنانة السورية سوزان نجم الدين الجدل حول إمكانية اعتزالها التمثيل، مؤكدة أنها لا تفكر في الابتعاد عن الساحة الفنية، خصوصا أن شغفها بالتمثيل لا يزال كما هو، وتشعر بأن لديها الكثير من الأعمال التي تطمح إلى تقديمها.

وأشارت إلى أن توقفها عن التمثيل قد يكون واردًا فقط إذا لم تجد أدوارًا تواكب طموحها الفني وتضيف إلى مشوارها، لكنها شددت على أن ذلك لن يعني الابتعاد عن الفن بشكل نهائي، إذ تمتلك خططًا لخوض تجارب إبداعية في مجالات فنية أخرى.
وكشفت سوزان نجم الدين في تصريحات إذاعية أنها تعمل حاليًا على عدد من المشاريع الجديدة، مؤكدة أنها ستعلن تفاصيلها خلال الفترة القادمة.

وتطرق الحديث عن سبب رفضها تجسيد شخصية الفنانة الراحلة ليلى مراد، مشيرة إلى أن القرار جاء بعد دراسة واقتناع كامل من جانبها، لافتة إلى أنها لا تشعر بالندم على اعتذارها عن العمل.
وأضافت أن السبب كان فنيًا بحتًا، موضحة أن تجسيد الشخصيات التاريخية والفنية الكبيرة يحتاج إلى مسؤولية ودقة شديدة لأن أي خطأ في تقديمها يتحمله الفنان أمام الجمهور.
